17 Oct INDIA-Britain’s Spot for Five New Trade Offices
Britain has shown keen interest in understanding India by proposing to open five new trade offices spread across the country. A new Deputy High Commission in Chandigarh is expected to follow the already opened Deputy High Commission in Hyderabad, as said by Hugo Swire, UK’s Foreign Office Minister in-charge of India at the 5th IISS (International Institute for Strategic Studies).
The King’s College India Institute is another such step taken by Britain to increase its understanding of the country. Swire also highlighted the formation of a new cadre of Foreign Office staff with Indian expertise.
The British official claimed to be on track with respect to doubling bilateral trade by 2015 thereby giving two way benefits to both the countries in fields of science, education and technology.
